"I am very pleased to report that her Pilates classes have been extremely helpful for my balance. I think that my core and leg muscles seem to be much stronger. Also, my shoulders and knees rarely hurt." Phyllis

"I have been practicing Pilates with Denene for five years, and it has been a powerful experience that has definitely benefited my whole body & mind. Denene is extremely knowledgeable and delivers a well planned program for each person at any level. I used to have issues with my hips but thanks to this practice & under the care of Denene, I am pain free, flexible and stronger than ever." Claudia

"A Pilates body is stable and strong, which helps me to keep consistently good posture throughout my busy life. A strong core makes it easy to stay naturally aligned and balanced as I move about my day and especially on my daily walks." Jeanne

"Mat Pilates classes have helped me regain core strength and overall stability after my second childbirth. The strength and alignment I've developed over months of taking these classes have helped me reintegrate aerial classes, dancing, and running into my life. Plus, I can handle the twists and turns of daily life as a stay-at-home parent!" Amy

"I am a 72 year old life long swimmer and dancer. I am active and fit and am accustomed to working out regularly and vigorously. However, as I've aged, I've experienced painful back and spine issues that have not adequately resolved from physical medicine, physical therapy or pain treatments. The Mat Pilates class is excellent and I believe it is what I need! I have gained much new information about muscle groups, especially core muscles. I have learned to activate muscles I've never been fully aware of, I have very definitely become strong in new ways. I have already had improvement in my pain symptoms and I'm finding that during everyday activities I am more aware of the muscles that support my body and I try to engage them frequently; I feel my posture has improved as well. When experiencing pain, I often activate my core muscles and am able to reduce or relieve the pain. This is a huge relief!" Laura

“I feel like I got a massage when I’m done.” Rhonda

  • I’m a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher. And I hold group exercise certifications through both ACE (American Council on Exercise) and AFAA ( Athletics and Fitness Association of America)

  • I practice what I teach. Pilates reconnects me with my body. It centers and calms me. Pilates is my saving grace and allows me to do the things I love - partner dancing (West Coast Swing is my current favorite), hiking, biking, gardening, being on the water, paddle boarding with my dog - with greater ease and without weekend-warrior pain afterward. My body is powerful, balanced, and aligned because I practice Pilates. I feel empowered, unstoppable, graceful, strong, and beautiful when I practice Pilates.

I began my fitness career in January, 2007. I started as a part-time instructor with certifications in both mat Pilates and group exercise. That same year, I left my full-time office manager position, and fitness has been my full-time career since.

I completed my 500+ hour comprehensive Pilates training in 2015 through Balanced Body with Melissa Francis in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 2016, I became a Nationally Certified Pilates Trainer through Pilates Method Alliance after successfully completing my exam. I attend workshops, classes, and conferences yearly in order to fulfill my continuing education requirements and further my professional development.

One size does not fit all! I've taught thousands of hours of classes and trained hundreds of different bodies, each with unique challenges. Allow me to guide your Pilates journey so you move with greater ease. So you too feel empowered, unstoppable, graceful, strong, and beautiful!

  • Do something great for your body, and your body will do great things for you.

After years, maybe even decades, of injuries, surgeries, falls, broken, bones, strains, and sprains, your body is working too hard. Pilates is the factory reset for your body.

Reset your muscle strength and flexibility, your stability, your range of motion, your posture, your alignment, your balance. Build your strength from the inside, with the tiny postural muscles you didnt know you had; reconnect, and re-calibrate your body. Youll experience easier, more efficient movement.

Pilates is not about getting to a number on a scale or a clothing size; although they may be side-effects. Pilates is about getting to know your body, learning how it works, and regaining control. At The Pilates Difference, you will learn and practice skill sets and movement patterns so your body automatically executes them; keeping you safe and strong while you live your life and do the things you love.

Experience The Pilates Difference. Factory-reset your body, gain control and agency over your body, and discover the great things your body can do.
